Aging powerfully means constantly evolving, and in this video, I’m sharing the exact fitness, self-care, and recovery upgrades I’ve made to stay strong, energized, and resilient.
One of my top priorities is strength and longevity. I’m focusing on resistance training and agility work, tracking my muscle mass and bone density with DEXA scans, and measuring my grip strength and push-up endurance to assess overall fitness levels.
Sleep has also been a major focus. Since I’m genetically a poor deep sleeper, I’ve made key changes like cutting back on wine, creating a completely dark and quiet sleep environment, and traveling with a sleep kit to ensure consistency.
I’ve also started gamifying self-care by earning three self-care points a day, which include activities like cold plunges, workouts, red light therapy, sauna sessions, journaling, and meditation. Establishing a nightly routine has helped me stay consistent and prioritize recovery.
Another area I’ve had to get serious about is cardio. While I love resistance training, I tend to neglect cardio, so I’ve started measuring my endurance with fitness tests and incorporating structured cardio sessions to keep myself accountable.
The biggest takeaway from all of this is that exercise positively impacts 11 of the 12 hallmarks of aging, making movement non-negotiable for longevity. If you’re looking to age powerfully, strength, endurance, and recovery should be at the core of your routine.
