Because being in bed is not the same thing as getting quality sleep.
If you fall asleep the second your head hits the pillow, that can actually be a sign you are overly tired. And if you are waking up exhausted, brain foggy, or dragging through the day, it is worth looking at what is happening during the night. I like tracking things like REM sleep, deep sleep, and how often you are waking up because those clues matter.
And here is the other thing I see missed all the time: thyroid health.
Please do not stop at a basic TSH test. Ask for a full thyroid panel including free T3, free T4, and thyroid antibodies because “normal” labs are not always optimal.
Fatigue is a signal. Start listening to it.
