Real Cause of Excess Belly Fat
Protein is the nutrient that you should be prioritizing the most if you are in menopause. If you’re not prioritizing it, you’re missing out on one of the biggest keys to muscle maintenance, fat loss, and overall health.

I sat down with Dr. Bill Campbell to break down why protein should be the foundation of your diet, especially for women in midlife. I personally eat nearly 200 grams of protein a day. That's more than 1 gram per pound of body weight! Yet, there’s still so much protein fear out there. The truth? It’s nearly impossible to overdo it because protein is incredibly satiating.

Research shows that when you go from very low protein intake daily to even just optimal levels, you’ll build muscle, lose fat, and start seeing body recomposition changes fast. Prioritizing protein is one of the easiest wins for menopausal women and people in general. Start today, stick with it consistently, and you’ll feel the difference soon!

  1. That’s why the carnivore diet helped my symptoms of menopause! I had none while I was on it for about 6 months!

    • How old are you? Are you on hrt?

  2. Hello? Dr longo’s research?
They have to be aware of that 🙁

    • I think this is a situation where the benefits outweigh the risks. We are actually at a higher risk of all cause mortality at low levels of protein as we age. I’m in menopause, so I need more protein than a younger woman. I can’t absorb the nutrients as well for one thing.

    • @@8yearsago153 I find food with amino acids , which is the only thing our bodies make its protein from , to be very adequate. But when I played with moderate to lots of animal flesh it was very obviously not ideal for the human body biology or chemistry .
I’m Also turning 50 this year . I just don’t eat any form of processed food . Only real Whole Foods, 99.9% fruits & veggies and 99.9% of that raw as nature intended it .
Way better than I ever ever felt or was when I ate any other way .

  3. Im high protein low carb mynissue is i had open bowel due to obstruction and twist im 3 years post gastric bypass 89kg down USA size 4 im 164CM. IM IN PERIMENOPAUSE ive been told my drs i cant get bunged up again. What can i eat with protein and water to prebent constipation thanks. I eat protein dirst then my spinach and coffee

  4. Help! How would you explain this:
Since I’m so passionate about epigenetics and nutrition many colleagues often bump into my office holding a banana 🍌 and say: look Roberta!!! I’m having a banana 😃 to mean “I’m so healthy because instead of having something from the vending machine like cookies I picked a fruit… Which makes sense, however, I say that a banana is certainly better than a packet of cookies but it would be better NOT to have it on an empty stomach because it raises insulin and after an hour they will look for something sweet……
So I suggested to have a Greek yogurt and then the banana… And in any case not to have more than a fruit a day unless they work out….
    What do you think 💬
