Fabulous advice as ever. I agree so much with the alcohol advice. Sadly it impacts our sleep training and weight so much as well as not being good for mood. My struggle is I’m trying to lose some body fat (weight) but getting the additional protein can be challenging
@annchesher9891 Hitting your protein goals while losing fat can be tricky, but it’s doable! Prioritize 30-50g of protein per meal, start your day with a loaded smoothiehttps://jjvirgin.com/smoothie. and focus on lean sources like chicken, fish, lentils, or tofu. A quality protein powder can help too—plus, protein keeps you full and supports fat loss! *Team JJ
@ perfect thank you
Good morning JJ. I follow you and follow much of your advice on supplements, and I am trying to prioritize strength building with weights. I just turned 58 and as I mentioned in a comment on another video, thankfully I have no bone loss at this point and relatively high muscle mass. I purchased a Renpho scale (on your advice) and it shows my body fat is high, so I’m working on that, but it’s BMI, so I’m not sure it’s a completely accurate picture given my other measurements. I have been living a fasting lifestyle (20 hours) for the last year. It helped me to lose about 35 pounds-I still want to lose about 10 more, but I’m ok where I am-especially if I get going on the muscle building. I do think the fasting helped me with some things other than losing weight, but now that I am much happier with where I am overall, I am struggling with whether to continue with the 20 hour fast so this video is perfect timing. I know I am not getting enough protein. My eating window is 4 PM – 8 PM- give or take 30 minutes to an hour. I work full time as a middle school teacher, so fasting is easy. We only get a 30 minute lunch and my lunch period is at 10:22 AM. When I break my fast after school around 4-5 o’clock, I try to do it with protein. It is usually cottage cheese with some Greek yogurt. After that I am so satiated it is hard for me to eat much more. Around 6:30 we’ll have our evening meal which always includes protein, vegetables and a healthy carb, but again, I cannot eat much. I have thought about reducing my fasting window or eliminating it, but it has been so easy for me and the only thing I’ve done that helped me lose weight and keep it off (even ebbing and flowing in and out so I didn’t miss out on my life), eliminate food worry and overall eliminate stress. I’m afraid if I go away from a fasting lifestyle I will gain the weight back. I agree with the wine or any alcohol, but I know for a fact that it affects my sleep and my weight. I haven’t completely eliminated it, but I drink much, much less. I often go an entire week or longer with no alcohol. I do want to try the Dry Farms, but haven’t yet. I guess I rambled with this comment when I should just follow your advice in the video, but I am really afraid of going back to where I was with constantly gaining and losing the same 30-40 pounds over and over and being miserable about my body and constantly anxious about my health and food. Practicing and living the 20 hour fast eliminated all of that but I know I’m not getting in the protein I need which is now my greatest concern. Thanks!
