Where do I get a dexascan? Will my med insurance cover it?
Thanks!

Hi @cathythielen3182 , You can search for locations that offer DEXA Scans here, https://www.dexascan.com/pages/locations – Best, Team JJ
Always perfectly delivered. Your hair looks gorgeous β€
I wish I could find a fitness expert or doctor who knows this information in my area. I’ve been on WW back and forth for many years and lost a lot of weight and learned healthy eating “habits” but over 50, WW is not an option because they do not adjust for hormone changes and aging bodies. Most doctors in my area don’t talk about insulin sensitivity, muscle mass, or dexa scans. Health insurance only pays for dexa scans if you have bone brittleness or referral from your doctor, but otherwise it is out of pocket. Health insurance pays for gym memberships, if you have a good gym with knowledgeable trainers (not 20 somethings with “fitness” blogs, “degrees in sports management” or other useless credentials who know nothing about body composition and health or posers who just want to attract the opposite sex). The problem in the US is that health is not important. The pharmaceutical companies rule what we put in our bodies and what information we get. Watch TV for 30 minutes and you will see at least 6 drug commercials. NOBODY in the US wants us to be healthy, EXCEPT JJ.
Hi @chrisdemnianyk4357 , If you donβt have a practitioner you know and trust who can help with this, you can find one in your area here – https://www.ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/ A nice feature is that you can filter by specialties!
In regards to JJ’s programs, if you’re unsure where to start, JJ has put together a Roadmap to help break it down into manageable and actionable steps – jjvirgin.com/roadmap
We hope that helps!! – Team JJ

@@jjvirginvideos thank you!
Soo helpful!! So I have a question. I understand the protein and how important that is. I also understand the whole healthy fats thing too but my question is how do u get to the point where u donβt want Mayo!!!??? Specifically Kraft Mayo. I canβt seam to find anything to add to tuna or my bunless burger to enjoy it. Please help. I want to be healthy but also want to enjoy what Iβm eating.
Hey @amyjones-lonestarhoosier2029, thanks for your comment. JJ has a recipe for a homemade version of mayo that is fresh and creamy but without the sugar impact or eggs. You can view that here – https://jjvirgin.com/recipe/sugar-impact-mayonnaise/ Cheers – Team JJ
@@jjvirginvideos thanks so much! I will give it a try for sure!!!
How much of your body should be skeletal muscle mass? Asking for a 53 year old female ππ»
Hi @salmavhbmakkan9915 Ideal muscle mass % would be about 25% – 30% for a normal woman and slightly higher for athletes, women who lift heavy, etc.
Here is a breakdown:
Approx. 20% – 25% fat
Approx. 25% – 30% muscle mass
Approx. 50 % body water, bone mass, etc.
We hope that helps! – Team JJ
Great video!
Glad you like it π
Thank you, i’m adicted to your podcast, i listen an old episode everyday. I would like to know if you know if there os something we can do to prevent varicose veins… i have a genetic tendency (my grandfather had it, my mother and her sisters have it, and i have it) . Went to doctor and he said the only solution is to operate, and even with that in some years i will continue to have it and theres nothing i can do. I’m convinced that lifestyle can delai it (i have a heathy diet high in protein and non starchy vegetables, i take 10g of hydrolised collagen and codfish oil every day, do about 45 minutes of strength training with compound mouvements 3x a week, 20 min hiit twice a week, 1h yoga a week, walk at least 8000 stp a day) , what do you think, can i ad other habits to delai this?
Thank you! Itβs not just your intelligence ! Your vitality, your posture and moves are very youthful . You’re incredible!
Thanks for watching! I do my best π
