Collagen—should you take it or skip it? Here’s the real deal. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, but you’ve probably heard it doesn’t help build muscle. That’s true! It’s also not a complete protein with all essential amino acids. Also true!
So, why should you still take it?
Because collagen is essential for connective tissue, skin, hair, nails, and joint health. If you lift weights, your muscles, tendons, and ligaments need to strengthen over time. Most injuries occur where muscles and tendons connect—not in the muscle belly itself. That’s why I prioritize collagen daily to support my strength and recovery.
