NOTES:

Estrogen declines leading to:

1. Fasting Insulin & Blood Glucose increases

It may be concluded that the serum fasting insulin and blood glucose levels are significantly higher in postmenopausal women that may be due to low level of estrogen.

2. Mitochondrial Dysfunction

Menopausal women often suffer from low energy levels, muscle weakness, tiredness, reduced exercise capacity, and susceptibility to weight gain. Many of these symptoms may result from energy depletion due to mitochondrial dysfunction.

Steps:
1. Experiment with the 7 different fasts
2. Go Keto most the time:
-Learn how to get into ketosis first
-Ideal weight? Follow 28-Day Hormone Reset – protocol (going over this in WMR)
3. Give love to your mitochondria
-Ketones
-Good Fats
-Protein
-Nutrients
-Detox

Many menopausal women have a hard time with weight loss. Women can also experience hot flashes, mood swings, and other symptoms that make it difficult to keep up with their usual routine. We suggest following these tips:

1. Exercise for at least 30 minutes every day. This can include anything from taking a brisk walk to lifting weights to joining an exercise class.

2. Eat healthy, high-fiber foods. It might seem like nothing but fiber can fill you up, but it does help you feel full longer and helps cut cholesterol levels. Whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans are good sources of dietary fiber so try to incorporate more of these into your diet for better health all around.

3. Keep track of the amount of food you eat each day so that you don't accidentally overeat or under-eat during your day. You could use an app on your phone or just write down what you eat in a journal at home to keep track of your calories.

4. Don't skip meals. You'll only make yourself feel more hungry and less energetic if you skip a meal, especially breakfast! If you don't have time for breakfast at home before work, bring a snack to eat on the go or stop somewhere that has a healthier selection.

5. Don't rely on willpower alone. Eating healthy is going to require a conscious effort from here on out, but by planning what you're going to eat ahead of time and taking steps to manage your stress level you will be better able to stick with it long term instead of relying solely on willpower which can run out quickly.

6. Aim for no more than 1,500mg of sodium per day. Even if you don't have high blood pressure, eating too much sodium can still increase your risk for heart disease. Try to avoid fast food restaurants and canned foods altogether, but if you do have to eat something from a can or drive through, use low sodium versions of the menu items.

7. Get plenty of sleep. Not only does this help with stress levels but it will also help boost your immune system so that your body is better able to fight off infections and illnesses that may be causing symptoms like hot flashes in menopause.

8. A healthy lifestyle is key. Even when you reach middle age and beyond there are things you can do to make yourself feel young again without resorting to medications or resorting to risky procedures.

So there you have it! You now know why menopausal women may experience weight gain, and how to combat this issue. Simply by following the tips in our article, you can easily begin your journey toward a healthier lifestyle during these difficult times of transition. There is no need to feel overwhelmed or hopeless because with some small changes you can achieve significant results with minimal effort.
