Real Cause of Excess Belly Fat
I had two very different role models growing up.

My dad worked nonstop, smoked, drank, never exercised, and always talked about what he was going to do “when he retired.” He dreamed about fishing, golfing, and finally enjoying life once his ship came in. But cancer took that opportunity away before he ever got there.

My mom made a different choice. She walked every day, ate well, stayed active, and took care of herself. She lived to 93 and went out the way we all hope to, peacefully and powerfully.

Watching both of them taught me something I will never forget: aging is inevitable, but aging powerfully is a choice. Start building the life and the body you want now, not someday.

  1. Life is full of dichotomy. Some people basically sacrifice their lives to provide for the benefit of others. They absorb so much of the stress of this world so the people they love can live lives without all that pressure. And health reflects it. I see my husband with high blood pressure who’s recently had a stroke, how stressed out he often is. I remember how it was being a single mother and feeling on edge, being responsible for everything. It makes a difference being the head of a household, there’s no comparison, even though I do work around here to keep the house running. I’m not the one who pays the bills and figures out how broke things will get fixed and all the other problems life throws on a daily basis. I honor your father and feel a little sad he didn’t get to see the reward he had hoped for in this life, but it was a reward in that your mother had long health and his daughter is set up to enjoy better, through learning and anything else he gave you. Good video.

    • What a thoughtful perspective. Chronic stress has a real impact on health, and so many people carry burdens no one else sees. I’m grateful my dad’s lessons continue to shape how I live and help others today. Have you found anything that’s helped you better manage stress over the years?

    • @jjvirginvideos I’ve gotten a little better at managing pressure by “relinquishing” control (the control I don’t have in actuality) and trying to focus on the things within my power to change. Being thankful, self regulation…. Watching your videos. 🙂 ❤
