I have been an open Water swimmer for years – mainly in the summer and I swim at 18- 19*C every 3 days. However I have extreme histamine issues with a history of going into anaphylaxis when I eat high-histamine foods and I have a hunch I have MCAS. I also have autoimmune disease. So last Autumn I kept on swimming – at first time 17*C then 15*C then 12*C. It did make me high, but my body went into a deep state and I slept for the whole next day. I’m wondering what’s going on….?? Since this time I have implemented a low-histamine diet…. which has been miraculous. So perhaps after this, I can reintroduce the cold swimming without my body going into deep state??
