The best exercise to lose weight after 40 years of age is a subject that many people have been wondering about in recent years. With the increasing number of adults in this demographic, it's no surprise that more and more questions are being asked about how to stay healthy when you're not getting any younger.
Losing weight after 40 can be achievable but it does take some dedication. The major obstacle is that the metabolism slows down as you get older, which means you'll need to make some changes if you want your plan to work. While there are many options for losing weight available – including surgeries and supplements – nothing beats exercise for overall health benefits. Here are some of the best exercises to lose weight after 40 years of age:
Walking or hiking. These gentle forms of exercise don't put stress anywhere near the joints, making them ideal for people not used to physical activity. Many individuals also like taking their dogs for walks around the neighborhood, both with and without leashes; this is good exercise any way you look at it! If you are looking for more of a challenge, try hiking up hills or taking longer routes around your neighborhood.

Cycling. You can always pedal away on a stationary bike inside but another option would be to get out on the open roads. Not only does cycling deliver great benefits for transportation purposes (more energy-efficient than walking), it's also an enjoyable form of exercise. If you're not sure where to go, just check your local bike trails for information or ask someone who already rides bikes. You can also take family members with you if they are interested in getting active as well.
Yoga and Pilates Classes at the gym may be a good way to get started on a beginner level, but if you want something with more intensity, try out the reformer Pilates machine. This unique apparatus will challenge your body in a different way than most machines at the gym. If you're not sure where to start looking for good prices, check online or your local phone book.
The best exercises to lose weight after 40 are the ones that you can do without too much trouble. They should be easy for your body and also fun! If this is not an exercise routine you enjoy doing, it will most likely lead to failure in keeping up with a healthy diet plan. Remember not all types of exercise are right for everyone–but if there's something out there that picks your interest then go.
you have no idea what you are talking about. people fit enough to do what you are showing, most likely do not need to lose weight. this is not for people over 40.
Actually you’re the one that doesn’t know what you’re talking about he’s giving good advice here.
Agreed.

Who wants to watch these guys who can afford to do nothing but train in their old age. What, no divorces, no kids in rehab? It’ s nice what you can do with your bidy if you have time & money and (probably) sponsors
This is my brother Darrel and his other brother Darrel.
lol
Taking a brisk walk around your neighborhood a few times is a better way to lose weight. To each his own.
sure, that pushup jack is great exercise… but it has nothing to do with after 40 years of age! Don’t fall into that mindset that just because you are older, you can’t do this and that.
Walking!
Sorry sir, I am not in agreement with you on that one. A lot of mid-age individual are not capable of doing push ups. I train a lot of mid-age individuals, males and females, and push ups are the last thing in mind.
I agree. At first I could barely do 5 push ups. That was a year ago. I am 43. In the last year I have lost over 50 pounds and can now do 3 sets of 25 push ups. It was hard but it is possible. And yes diet and cardio are very important but push ups have been a huge benefit to my weight loss.
Why waste your time with this when burpees are far superior…
Stop eating sugar and bread and pasta and the weight will drop off
lonnieke yes
lonnieke stop lying
This is just superb, been searching for “workout routines for men over 40” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about – Fanlevi Immaculate Eradicator – ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy got cool results with it.

Too many inaccuracies and long discredited ideas to be taken seriously. The exercise you show is not ‘the best’ exercise for weight loss for a start. Over 40? That has little to do with anything. But the biggest misleading piece, the idea that the metabolism slows down as we age. Yes. In many cases it does. But not because of age, but because of our diminishing activity levels, and the increase in fat and decrease in muscle that that can lead to. So the best exercise for weight loss for any age is just anything that uses your muscles that you enjoy enough to keep doing regularly.
Then why you fools on this site.. to bash? Your attitude will match outcome. Im here for some positive suggestions myself
when i get down to do a pushup, my stomach touches the floor and im like a human teeter-totter (aka seesaw). lol
Any deer hunting tips?
Has anyone ever noticed that these videos are pushed by people who are already fit with no proof that they were unfit? 99% of them were never fat in the first place.

Maybe me….
But you don’t seem to be OVER 40 ……..to begin with.
