That's the real win. Not the number on the scale. Not how you look in the mirror. It's what you can actually do in life without limitation.
Here's what I see happen: women get to a certain age and they're told to downsize their life. Move to a one-story house. Do light activity. Don't lift heavy things. Stay safe. And it's the opposite of what you should be doing. The stronger you are, the more independent you are. The more you can handle life as it comes at you without breaking down.
So when you're thinking about your resistance training—those three to four days a week of progressive lifting—you're literally building the foundation for the next 30, 40 years of your life where you're not dependent on anyone else. You're capable. You're strong. You move through the world without limitation.
That's aging powerfully. And that's what makes all the difference.
