Think of it this way: an overhead press – like when you’re putting your luggage in the top compartment of an airplane – is an excellent way to load your spine. 💪 Overhead dumbbell presses are one of the best moves for this!
Don’t forget about the hips – hinging at the hips engages your lower body, and pressing overhead works your chest and triceps. Pull-ups (or even just hanging) are fantastic too! 👏 I encourage women to start doing pull-ups or even just hanging from a bar. It’s an incredible way to improve grip strength, which is actually correlated with all-cause mortality. Meaning, better grip strength = a longer, healthier life.
You don’t need a fancy gym to get started. A set of dumbbells and a TRX machine can work wonders from the comfort of your own home.

I hang and my shoulder impingement is gone!
Thank you! That said we still need to walk but perhaps this clip is a little out of context. I lift and walk. I don’t expect to build massive bone and muscle strength but it’s movement, grounding and adds to my fitness so I will keep tight on walking (thank you very much😉).
