Not because cardio is “bad,” but because steady-state endurance training is catabolic and it breaks down both fat and muscle.
When you lose muscle, your metabolism slows, blood sugar control gets worse, and fat becomes easier to store. Muscle gives glucose somewhere to land, keeps your resting metabolic rate higher, and acts like your own built-in fat-burning machinery.
Instead of logging endless miles, trade some of that time for resistance training. Build the muscle that keeps your metabolism powerful. Then layer in short HIIT sessions to improve recovery, boost HRV, raise lactate, and help burn off visceral fat.
Cardio has a place. It just shouldn’t take the place of muscle.

I agree. Although I may be biased, cuz I can’t run. Or jog for that matter. Lol. I walk. Or try my best.😊
