I dive into this concept in The Energy Paradox with @drstevengundry—exercise snacking is about short bursts of activity throughout the day. Think weeding your garden, walking your dog up and down a hilly slope. Small actions, big results!
There’s even a fascinating study out of Austria that looked at two groups: one took a cable car up the mountain and walked down, while the other walked up and rode down. You’d think the group that hiked uphill would have gotten the better benefit, right? But surprise – both groups showed the same results! Why? Because even when you walk down, you're fighting gravity and engaging your muscles in a different, yet impactful way.
So here’s the takeaway: hills – whether you’re walking up or down – are one of the simplest, most effective exercises you can do. And it's proof that small, consistent movements throughout the day can make a huge difference in your long-term health.
Don’t overcomplicate it. A little movement here and there can add up to a whole lot of benefit. 🌱
