Real Cause of Excess Belly Fat
Every diet is a tool, not a forever plan.

Intermittent fasting. Carnivore. Detox protocols.

None of them are magic bullets—and they weren’t meant to be.

The right question isn’t “Which diet is best?”
It’s “What’s the goal right now?”

✔ Blood sugar support?
✔ Gut healing?
✔ Fat loss?
✔ Hormone regulation?

Your diet should serve your current need—and evolve as you do.

Take carnivore, for example. I spoke with Dr. Shawn Baker on my podcast (Well Beyond 40), and we agree—it’s a powerful short-term tool, especially for elimination. But long term? You want to shift back into diversity. Plants. Fiber. Gut microbiome support.

The bottom line: Use diets strategically. Heal first. Then build a sustainable, thriving lifestyle.

  1. JJ, what you say in this video is so on point. Diets are a tool to get you to your goal, be it to lose weight or fix/reverse a particular issue. My current goal is to get strong and build muscle so I’m following a low carb diet with emphasis on protein and hopefully lose a little weight along the way. However, I’ll be 80 later this year and am aware that it will take some time to reach my goals. After which I’ll probably go back to a Mediterranean way of eating. Thank you for all the great information you provide us ladies with…it’s priceless!❤️
