While being active and fits is important in all stages in our lives, it has definite benefits during perimenopause!
Insomnia and emotional/stress eating can be a factor in weight gain. During perimenopause the dip in estrogen can cause us to gain belly fat and retain water. After the age of 30 we lose muscle mass and bone density. All of which can contribute to weight gain. So, how do we combat this? Getting good, quality sleep, decreasing stress and EXERCISE. (which will help with getting a good nights sleep and reducing stress! It is all interconnected!!)

– Exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet to help with fatigue and mood swings.
– Talking to your doctor about hormone replacement therapy or other medications that can help with vaginal dryness, hot flashes, night sweats, and other perimenopausal symptoms.

You are amazing. I lost 120lbs and then when me and my twin sister turned 41 our Mother died, then at 42 it started! Blasted weight gain, weird periods, weird mood swings. Our mother was very private so we have no clue when she actually went into full menopause. But wow. I hate that I gained about 15lbs. I do not feel sexy or pretty, which is a lie from the devil. But it is just weird. What are good things to eat and what should I stop eating? What are good times of the day to eat and stop. I am sorry for all the questions.
